Vijayadashami Pooja (also known as Dussehra) is performed every year on the tenth day (Dashami) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin (September–October). विजयदशमी पूजा (जिसे दशहरा भी कहा जाता है) हर साल आश्विन माह (सितंबर–अक्टूबर) के शुक्ल पक्ष की दशमी तिथि को की जाती है। यह पूजा अच्छाई की बुराई पर विजय का उत्सव मनाने के लिए आयोजित होती है। इस दिन भगवान श्रीराम द्वारा रावण पर विजय और माता दुर्गा द्वारा महिषासुर का वध किए जाने की कथा से जुड़ी मान्यता है। लोग विशेष पूजा करते हैं, शस्त्रों और औजारों की पूजा (शस्त्र पूजा) करते हैं और साहस तथा सफलता के आशीर्वाद की कामना करते हैं। सांसारिक लाभों में बाधाओं पर विजय, कार्यों में सफलता, नकारात्मक शक्तियों से सुरक्षा, तथा जीवन में समृद्धि और सुख-शांति की प्राप्ति शामिल है।
