Gopa Ashtami Pooja is performed every year on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartika (October–November). It is observed mainly by cowherds, farmers, and devotees of Lord Krishna to honour cows and express gratitude for their nourishment and service to humanity. According to mythology, on this day young Krishna first took the cows out to graze in Vrindavan, marking his transition from a child to a responsible cowherd (Gopal). Worldly benefits of this pooja include prosperity in farming and dairy-related activities, good health and growth of cattle, family well-being, removal of obstacles in livelihood, and overall abundance and harmony in life.

गोपा अष्टमी पूजा हर साल कार्तिक माह (अक्टूबर–नवंबर) के शुक्ल पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि को की जाती है। यह पूजा मुख्य रूप से ग्वालों, किसानों और भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के भक्तों द्वारा गायों के सम्मान और उनके पालन-पोषण व मानव सेवा के प्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करने के लिए की जाती है। पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार, इसी दिन बाल कृष्ण ने पहली बार वृंदावन में गायों को चराने के लिए बाहर ले जाकर अपने बचपन से ग्वाल बनने की जिम्मेदारी संभाली थी। सांसारिक लाभों में खेती और दुग्ध व्यवसाय में समृद्धि, पशुओं का अच्छा स्वास्थ्य और वृद्धि, परिवार की खुशहाली, आजीविका में आने वाली बाधाओं का निवारण, तथा जीवन में समग्र सुख-शांति और समृद्धि प्राप्त होना शामिल है।
